Mission Statement
Our mission at Think BIG Performance Consulting is to make sport psychology and mental skills training accessible to athletes and performers at all ages and levels. By listening to clients in a non-judgmental way and understanding the complexities of their situations with empathy and passion, we make clients feel comfortable sharing thoughts, emotions, and behaviors at a deep level. This style of active listening empowers clients to deepen their awareness of who they are as athletes and performers. As athletes and performers become self-aware, we work together to incorporate mental skills training and therapeutic techniques to help each client reach their performance goals.
With a philosophical grounding in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Positive Psychology, I believe in working with clients to focus on active solutions to issues effecting performance and work hard to help athletes and performers get into a space where they are truly thriving. As athletes improve and begin to flourish in their sport, we work on strategies like mindful reflection, meditation, and guided imagery to increase the frequency that they get into flow states (being in the "zone") and clutch states (performing optimally under pressure) of performance. Athletes that work with Think BIG benefit in a variety ways, gaining self-confidence and improving mental skills to overcome potential performance obstacles such as: performance anxiety, situational confidence, emotional regulation, attentional focus, team dynamics, communication, managing training demands and more.
